i have been diagnosed with rosacea .. will ipl treatment be covered by australian medicare??
Hi there – i have had rosacea around the edges of my nose since i was about 3 or 4 so i have never known what it was like to have clear skin and im sure you know how mean kids in school can be. My mum never really looked into it for some reason so i went without treatment for years until i complained about the bullying – then i went to the doc’s for some topical cream that didn’t work so i just sort of shrugged it off and ignored it till now in high-school.. i am 16 and have chronic blackheads all over my Tzone also where my rosacea is so i can’t treat the blackheads yet because the blackhead treatment makes my rosacea flare up and spread so i need to know if i should treat the rosacea first or the blackheads first? but i don’t think rosacea ever actually goes away especially considering that mine has been there for my whole life.. maybe its just part of how i am
for the rosacea i have tried – not drinking milk or eating cheese/dairy products -prescriptionn doxycycline pills – primrose oil -chamomilee – a wide variety of different recommended vitaminin supplements – and a countless number of different creams and herbal lotions –
for the blackheads i have tried – a wide variaty of cleansing scrubs – followed by benzoyl peroxide gel 5% moved up to 10%(still using not sure if i should because of the rosacea) – biore max strengh pore strips – steaming my face – teatree oil – proactive solution
also can i get laser treatment for my rosacea even if i have blackheads?
I have rosacea and i am on meds…but i still have some redness and i am looking for something that might reduce it more..any suggestions?
sometimes ill blush very bad and the situation wont even be embarassing…is this rosacea? i kinda doubt it is since i dont get any pus filled things (others have said they iare common for rosacea)

I’ve known people with rosacea and seen pictures on the internet and what I have doesn’t match up. Eight months ago my skin started itching with what I thought was hives. Couldn’t really see them on the surface but I could feel them under my skin. I was very stressed out at work at the time. They didn’t go away though. Instead the surface of my skin started breaking out in sores like small boils with a blister like head. If you washed your face with a cloth it would cause them to bleed. If you squeezed them it was just clear liquid and it would burn for a while afterwards. Some days my whole face just burned. The only time my face has been completely clear was when I was on amoxicillin for a nasal infection but then the sores came right back. I’ve been given bactrim and some other mild antibiotic as well as a sulfer lotion and yeast cream and nothing has worked. I think there is some kind of an infection going on that hasn’t been addressed. Anybody out there have any ideas?
My face gets ance, but not much.
The big problem is blemishes!
My face is as red as a cherry tomato.
And covering it up makes acne worse.
Are there certain types of face washes/ creams you can use or what do you do?
Ok, this is a bit long but it will only takes about 5 minutes of your time, I really need help on this problem, thank you!
I recently have this eczema pimple lookalike, pinkish-red kind of itchy rash on my right cheek

I really don’t want to use back hydrocortisone or any other steroid creams anymore, because all these prescription creams has worsen the condition, causing my face sensitive to the sun as well. It’s like, when I stop using it, the problem comes back again 3 weeks later, and the problem comes back even greater. I’ve been prescribed non-steroid cream as well, Elidel and Protopic. Protopic burned my skin, and Elidel gave me cough (it’s proven it gives internal side effect).
I’ve had bad experience with moisturizer cream that contains Petroleum, Mineral Oil, and Paraffin because all these ingredients actually form an oily film that sits on top of the skin, preventing moisture from evaporating. It has a drying effect, it actually suck out the moisture of your lips/skin, which is why you have to constantly reapplying it.
I’ve just change my cleanser from "Cetaphil Gentle cleanser" to "California Baby Shampoo & Bodywash, Super Sensitive (can be used on face)". Because RECENTLY I did a research about this harmful chemical ingredient called Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), it’s actually cheap detergent that people used in car washes, as garage floor cleaners, and engine degreasers etc. After the research I looked at the back of the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser and DANG, it has SLS and another harmful ingredient called "Propylene Glycol". For Christ sake I’ve been using it for 4 years.
By the way, I’ve spent a fortune for this problem and been to many dermatologists and ended up transferred to a senior skin specialist dermatologist, one of the best in my area but still pretty useless. And there was one time in 2006 I put on a full makeup, the brand was Clique. It was the first time and also the final time I applied makeup because after washing off I realised my face was peeling already. Then later that year I did a skin patch test and turned out that I’m allergic to a fragrance called "Lyral". It’s is a fragrance that is present in many cosmetic products. I’ve not been putting any cosmetic to my face ever since that incident. Then this year I took IgE blood test and Food Allergy Test. My IgE stated 73 IU/ML and I asked the laboratory person what does it mean and he said that any number that’s under than 87 is normal.
The food in the test are Hazelnut, Lobster, Sacharomyes Cerevisiale, Shellfish Mix, Squid, Chicken, Codfish, Corn, Crab, Egg White, Milk, Peanut, Potato, Rice, Shrimp, Soyabean, and Wheat.
The food allergy test on the print-out all stated class 0, which means I’m not allergic to any of those.
I did a fungal test before but it turned out negative, which means I don’t have it. I’ve asked the dermatologist if mine was rosacea and he said no. I also once suspect this might be perioral dermatitis so I asked if I could take antibiotic but the dermatologist refused to give it to me and said that my type of eczema is called Atopic Eczema.
He told me that if I’m so paranoid to use back steroid cream, just keep moisturizing. I asked him if by moisturizing alone would it clear off the rash and he couldn’t give me a confident answer, he just replied, "it will improve the condition" -_-
He gave me this moisturizer called "Physiogel Al Cream", these are ingredients,
Aqua, Olea, Europaea, Glycerin, Pentylene, Glycol, Palm Glycerides, Olus, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Squalane, Betaine, Palmitamide MEA, Acetamide MEA, Sarcosine, Hydroxyethyl-cellulose, Sodium Carbomer, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum
After trying out two times I still find it quite greasy even though there isn’t any petroleum or mineral oil.
So now I’m looking for an alternative way to deal with this problem because I really don’t want to use back the stupid steroid cream or those moisturizer that comes with crappy ingredients.
Also, I was reading this CB Calendula Cream review over here,
http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=54802&catid=26109&crpg=5&tab=1#1
The product was rated 4.5 out of 5 stars based on 44 users. 90% of them commented that the cream cleared off rash problems like cradle crap, eczema rash on face etc. Even some adults commented that they have facial eczema rash, perioral dermatitis, dry skin etc used this product and has worked wonders in healing their skin.
So I’ve been using the CB Super Sensitive wash for my face, and have applied the the CB Calendula Cream on my face for the fourth time. It somehow stop the itch a bit, but I am wondering how long it will take to clear off the rash.
So has anyone of you tried using California Baby Calendua cream with success?
Also, can moisturizing alone clear off the eczema facial rash? Or am I doomed to use back steroid?

P.S.
I’ve been on this "detox diet" for close to 6 weeks already, I’ve stop eating meat and poultry. I only take one meal a day which consist 1 plate of brown rice, and 3 serves of spinach and broccoli, 2 bananas and 2 apples. I’d take fish at most twice a week though. I’ve also been drinking only water, 12 glasses a day. I used to sh*t twice a week but ever since I started out this "detox diet" I’ve been sh*tting everyday. Yes, it does help to clean my bowel and liver but I still don’t understand why recently I get this sudden rash appearing on my right cheek. ![]()
Im 17 and just went to the dermatolagist he said I have Rosacea. Like my face has ruddines and flushing. Is this possible for me if im only a 17 year old male? And ways to help clear my skin up of flushing, ruddynes,Rosacea? Ima start using MEtro gel today.
Let me explain this. I’m 13 and I have slightly red cheeks. It’s kind of patchy and it really does not look good. It’s across my cheeks and my nose. It’s really NOT super bad. I looked up all the symptoms for rosacea, and I don’t think I have any of them.
My problem is, I ALWAYS have slightly red cheeks, and I also blush really easily. Is it because I’m shy? Well, there are plently of shy people that don’t blush.
Basically, I have a bit of redness across my face and I also blush a lot. But there are no bumps OR ANYTHING. Could this be MILD rosacea? I really need help because the blushing is the biggest problem. And does having a red face have anything to do with blushing easily? HELP!!
I would think it would only make it worse cause of the burning. Please explain if someone can. Thank you! =)
I’ve had rosacea for 11 years. I have been given every pill and topical cream that the dermatologist knew of and was put on each for an extended period with no improvement. I have also tried for extended periods:
the Mary Kay Cleanser
tea tree oil
Eucerin redness reduction
H2O2
prosacea
triderma redness relief (I still use that as a moisturizer every morning)
I use mineral makeup
I know all the triggers (sun, alcohol, spicy, etc)
I drink a lot of water
I am German and have sensitive skin. Since in the US a natural blonde with fair skin only makes up 2% of the population, I think that is why the normal remedies aren’t working.
I care more about the broken capillaries and rough skin than the redness. Thanks for any help
The derm said it’s adult acne rosacea. I have pimples once in a while that of course go away in a few days, the redness, broken capillaries, and the bumps that are rough to the touch and start to bleed if they do get touched. Sorry for not clarifying.
So I have always had red cheeks. And hated it. I wasn’t sure exactly why. I never really had acne. I do get bumps and pimples on occasion and the rare zits.
But I just had my second child and my Rosacea got bad enough for me to realize thats what is has been. My skin gets so red and itchy you can tell its inflamed and irritated, its also very dry.
Im done with it, is there anything I can do to calm me severely dry irritated face? I cant really were make up because its so dry, and my moisturizer is not helping anymore. It may be worse since I JUST gave birth. But Really I need a little self esteem back.
Is there anything I can do? I heard the Aveeno Calming lotion works, but do I need anything else too?
My red face makes me look so ugly! I’m a 15 year old boy and have a very red face which i think is acne rosacea it’s like in blotches and mostly around my nose and cheeks area. It really makes me lose self confidence knowing my face looks this red. It makes me look gross, and makes me depressed. If I could clear it up my life would be great. Also do you think having a weird looking red face makes me ugly?
I have talked to a dermatologist and they said theirs not much they can do at this time. Is there any natural treatments i can do at home?
I had a bout of mild, but annoying, rosacea on my cheekbone area, mostly the right one, this summer and the veins seem to have burst, tiny ones, maybe 3 or 4 in a small are about the size of a nickel, I called and asked what can be done, she said it would cost a vein and might can be done in one session. has anyone had this done? is it painful?? effective?
what are the side effects? sorry for so many questions, I have an appt the 27th. I hate them, my face is other wise clear..thanks! oh, my skin is sensitive..
I’m scared cus i think i have irrititant contact dermatitis due to face cosmetics (face irritation), because i only get red after applying cosmetics and the redness goes away when i dont put anything. But whenever i look at ways to treat and heal face rashes i get links to Rosacea and stuff, and that word "rosacea" scares the jeebers out of mee, im 19 years old (male) and i get red after using acne products and/or face washes for my oily skin, could this mean i have rosacea i never recall getting red before cosmetics and my pimples are acne cus they’re "poppable" when i get facials. The redness is also aliviated by antihistamines, would could that be the case for rosacea individuals as well?? I’m scard i might have rosaceaaaa wahh
eucrin? murad? prosacea? i need a product that won’t irritate my sensitive skin and will make the redness go away!!

I know it sounds weird, but has anybody tried diaper rash cream for rosacea? The zinc oxide is supposed to be really good for it..
