does it sound like i have rosacea?

ahhh i just cant diagnose myself even after reading all the stuff on google about it.

i cant tell if i hav rosacea or just crap skin tone

my face is red a bit in the cheeks, a but in the forehead, and just above my upper lip. and i think i have broken capilleries? around my nose.

but i dont get hot flushes, and my skin doesnt get any other symptoms, like it doesnt flare up, unless im doing some much needed exercise or drinking.
i guess sometimes my forehead gets itchy, but thats usually cos its dry.

yeah basically its just red patches accompanied with nothing else.

my eyes did sometimes swell, but thats becuase i got allergic reactions to my makeup on my eyes.

so yeah does it sound like i have it?>?
p.s my doctor never said anything about it. (im 18)

Can a regular doctor help with rosacea?

I ask because all the dermatologists around here are outrageous. The least inexpensive one I could find (well, one that wasn’t also operating out of the trunk of a car) several years ago, and each visit was — but he kept wanting me back like every two weeks. I was just out of high school and making .35/hour, so add that in to the medication he prescribed and I’d have been bankrupt within a month or two.

Since then, I’ve tried every homeopathic and OTC remedy I could find online, and nothing helps. I’m tired of just masking it with makeup — I want to do something to actually get rid of the problem rather than just hide the symptoms. But since I can’t afford a dermatologist, could I just go to my regular doctor and see if there’s anything he could do?

While I’m here, if anyone has had any experiences with treatments that helped chronic rosacea (not just the flare-ups, but the constant red hue), would you mind sharing? Thanks!

Any fellow sufferers out there? I’m a 38 year old female who has flushing rosacea. The bridge of my nose and my cheeks and chin now usually have a red appearance and symptoms can flare up from time to time when I can experience a marked increase in the reddening and my face feels really hot. Thankfully it hasn’t progressed much beyond these symptoms and I do try and avoid trigger factors eg spicy food. I just wondered if any of you can give me and tips and/or advice on any medicines, treatments and make-ups you use to alleviate the condition? Any help advice appreciated

Is this rosacea?

I get redness on my cheeks. nose and forehead and it does seem to come in "flare-ups" like the symptoms suggest. The major problem is during this time the skin on my face is ultra senstive. I cannot apply moisturizer or even think about shaving. If I do it stings and burns (it burns anyway but just worse when aggravated). Even a hot shower in the morning can irritate it when im having one of these flare ups. They usally last 1-2 days.

But, the redness isn’t nearly as bad as pictures I have seen online. It is the kind that people would pass off as "just a red face" rather than thinking "wth is wrong with your skin". Also, there are no pimples, veins or other odd things that are associated with it. But I basically feel like i’m walking around sunburnt on my face the whole time. It is worth noting that it can seem to trigger during periods of stress. So is this Rosacea? I do not visit doctors unless it’s an emergency btw, bad experiences with malpractice/conventional medicine.

Red nose?? Could it be Rosacea?

I’m 13, and I think I have Rosacea. It started about last year, about half way through the school year. I looked up the symptoms and I have basically every one of them, except the pimples on my cheeks and nose (just the forehead and the occasional one on the chin, but thats normal for a teenager) and you can’t see veins in my cheeks. Is it normal to have Rosacea at this age? I don’t think it’s genes because none of my family has it. It SO embarrassing at school! Anything that even slightly embarrasses me at school makes my face go soo red.
Is this Rosacea or just normal teenage puberty?
It hasn’t happened so far this summer.

It looks like this:

I know I know i look reallyy bad in those pictures, don’t judge me.
And sometimes my nose is a tad more red than in those pics, but I couldn’t find any other ones with a red nose.
Does BareMinerals work to cover it, and not irritate it? Since it’s not oily?

Thank you!

Anemia and Rosacea?

I am pretty sure I am anemic, I am a college instructor and was showing students how to do a hemtocrit with the centrifuge, we checked our red blood cell counts afterward, The hematocrit (Ht or HCT) and packed cell volume (PCV) are measures of the proportion of blood volume that is occupied by red blood cells. It is normally between 45 +/- 7 (38-52%) for males and between 42 +/- 5 (37-47%) for women.

Mine were only about 30% I do have a lot of symptoms of anemia, and have been deferred from giving blood because I was mildly anemic when I went to give about 2 years. I took multi-vitamins and the next time I gave blood I was fine.

Well, my question is this, If I am anemic, no doctor has offically diagnosed me, Can I still have Rosacea? The redness in my face made me to believe I was not anemic and just tired. I have been under ALOT of stress at work. My face seems less red, but I know it is rosacea.

Can’t find any info on it never heard of it

Sorry for the long question

I have never had much acne, and it has always been very mild, and only a pimple or so at a time.
Having said that, last night, I noticed that the left side of my face started itching like CRAZY. I went to the bathroom to look in the mirror, and it had broken out into a bright red rash and now parts of it burn lightly, and that portion my skin went from smooth to bumpy and rough and really awful feeling..
My mom has rosacea, and I called her this morning to ask if she thought it might be whats on my face, and she doesn’t know.
My question is, can rosacea affect only one side of the face? Are the symptoms I described here typical of the condition? And if not, what could it be?
I’ve googled just about everything I can concerning it, but I can’t find anything that quite gives me a straight answer to my question.
Also, what are some tips and pointers to help soothe my skin until I can get to a dermatologist sometime next week??
