Has anyone tried dermabrasion or laser to treat rosacea?

A dear friend of mine suffers from rosacea. It is really affecting him and I’d like to help. I’ve read dermabrasion can help restore smooth skin on the nose but I have also read somewhere that it can help for a while and then rosacea will return more aggresively.
Can anyone share their experience? What can be done to minimize the appearance of bulbuous nose and enlarged pores?
So many thanks

How old is your friend? This makes a huge difference in the types of treatments available to him.
He needs to see a doctor. How severe the rosacea is *matters.* If the doctor thinks this case isn’t severe enough, he/she won’t recommend dermabrasion as a treatment for your friend. The process is (I’m told) pretty painful, and the pain and healing period lasts a long time, with good results *not* guaranteed. Doctors don’t advise the treatment except in very severe cases.
You’re not going to get adequate help here on Y!A. A real doctor needs to actually see, face-to-face, this potential patient. We can’t possibly know enough out here to give you better advice than your own common sense will tell you.
Good luck, whatever you and your friend decide to do. Tell your friend from me (a fellow sufferer, with a "not severe enough" case) to stay strong!

There are many triggers for rosacea. If your friend can avoid, the condition will be better. These triggers are spicy food, alcohol drinks, direct sunlight etc. This is a natural treament for rosacea.
