I have to say that the hydrochloric acid deficiency theory of rosacea is nonsense. Rosacea is caused by an over-production of certain types of inflammatory proteins in the skin.
As long as your food isn’t coming out of you undigested, then your stomach is producing enough hydrochloric acid. That is the only function of hydrochloric acid in the body — to assist with the breakdown of food and the absorption of nutrients (most of which is handled is by digestive enzymes in the intestines).
You should see a dermatologist and inquire about Finacea, an anti-inflammatory cream which has been demonstrated to reduce the breakouts and redness caused by rosacea. A prescription wash called Plexion is also very beneficial for rosacea. Sometimes, oral antibiotics like doxycycline or tetracycline can be beneficial as well.
In terms of food, there are some you should *avoid* –> like very spicey foods, alcohol, and caffeine. These are common triggers for rosacea flare-ups.
hydrochloric acid is made in glands in your stomach lining – it helps to break down the food that u eat the HCL also kills bacteria etc that may enter your stomach – you can get a prescription from the Doctor depending on how deficient u are or they will give u a list of foods/ supplements to take
the best thing is to speak to a doctor about what action to take – too much HCL can give u heartburn and peptic ulcers so get professional advice first
